I majored in Politics at the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE) in Mexico City and I write about public health, climate, and gender, sometimes using data.
I recently graduated from the Science, Health, and Environmental Reporting Program (SHERP) at NYU.
My work has been recognized with the Walter Reuter German Journalism prize, the Award for Excellence in Health Care Journalism and has been nominated for the Gabriel García Márquez Award. In 2022, my writing was cited as evidence in an Amicus Curiae brief regarding the Mexican State's lawsuit against U.S. gun manufacturers. In 2024, the International Refugee Assistance Project used my reporting to argue against an interim rule to secure the border.
For over three years, I coordinated the data journalism done by the Mexican non-profit Data Cívica.
I also curate Igual deberías leer esto, a newsletter with journalism worth reading. The stories are in English and Spanish, but my writing is in Spanish.
